stereo out, no low frequencies

just got my 2500 and when speakers are hooked into the stereo out L/R no low frequencies come through. volume level is fine, and everything about 400hz and up sounds as it should (the phones jack does not have this issue).

so is there some filter setting i haven't learned yet or do i need to open her up and see if it's hardware based?
