MPC 2500 Load screen crash

Hi

Picked up a 2500 yesterday and all seems fine until I get to the load screen where it just crashes.

I try to use the up cursor to change were to load from and nothing and try to hit USB and nothing. Only thing is lets me do is go back to the main screen.

Also I reset the MPC back to factory setting as as it didn't have JJOS and thought this have have fixed it but still nothing.

Can anyone suggest that the MPC is f***ed so I can call the mofo that sold it to me.

Boot it up holding ERASE-button. Does this help?

what are you trying to load from when it crashes? flash card, hard drive? sounds like either one may need to be reformatted...

That's the thing I can't even use the cursor up to
Choose a source to load from. As soon as I get to the load screen it just freezes.

Ah yeah didn't read properly. Take out HD (if there's one) and CF. Try selecting Internal memory and load from there. If that worked insert the CF and try selecting that and loading stuff. Finally if you have HD, install it back and try loading from there...

If crash happens when trying to load from CF you might have corrupted card or bent reader pin. Try another CF and if it still doesn't work you might have to replace the reader (more work).

So I took the cf out and the load screen wasn't frozen and I was able to load from the internal memory so will get a new cf and see if that works.

If this is the case are they expensive to replace, tried to find one on MPCStuff but could see one.

Managed to find the part on MPC stuff for $110 which really shocked me been as the guy who sold it to me said there was no issues with it!

Also found the problem thats causing the crash, when I looked in the slot I can see that 2 pins which are bent up, not broken just bent.

Would anyone recommend trying to bend them back or would that just be a no go.

ive had the same problem with 1k...pulled out the pcb board n took aluminum casing off the reader to get better access to the pins and gently bent the pin back just enough so it would line up with the other prongs...it fixed the issue and never gave any problems afterwards

alright cool, so to get to the board I unscrew the 2 screws at the front to get access to it right?

you gotta take off the faceplate casing to get under the hood, then disconnect few cables, undo few screws to get the pcb board out
