I cant load files from Dvd on my mpc2500 se

I burn all my drum kits(.waw) on dvd and when i try to load them they are crashed or not visible! What im doing wrong? Is this problem becouse symbols: - or sometimes when i have multiple numbers like this : Animal Kick 01, Animal Kick 02... it show only words and il load mode when i play it its all same sounds but on my pc they are diferent ! HELP pls

is drive in your mpc dvd-rom or cd-r only ? I am not at home right now in front of my mpc but I think MPC's might have shipped with CD-R drive and not DVD-rom

files need to be 16bit 44.1hz

long file/folder names and special characters should be avoided, keep it simple as possible. I forget what the character limit in mpc is but things can get funky if you get crazy with naming

have you tried transfering over usb for test purposes ?

If the file names are beyond 16 characters and for example the first 16 characters were "Animal Brawlic K" the MPC bugs out and sees them all as the same file and worse a file it won't load I think. Just to expand on what konc3pt said.

I use CKrename to edit file names in bulk. I have a lot of commercial libraries and they go over 16 characters on the regular. So the only differentiating characters are beyond the 16 characters and the MPC can't read it right like in the "animal brawlic kick 01..02..03 " example.

Slow as it is I usually use the USB to transfer files. But the character thing will ruin your day either way so if you have batches of files to get under the 16 character limit grab the CKrename.

Yes have Dvd on my mpc and files are .wav 16bit 44.1hz i can put them over Usb but only 128 mb but on dvd i can put 4 gb. so im **** up

Are you just loading into the 128MB of sample memory? Like no CF card or hard drive? If that's the case then yeah the DVD would be more convenient. Hope it's just the file names and maxing the limited 128MB of RAM that's the issue rather than the files being corrupt in some way.

dont rename them all, just a few to see what happens. I believe theere might be software out there that does this task in batches.

keep in mind your mpc only has 128mb of ram to host the samples, do you have internal hard disk ?

Have you tried loading from cd-rom before ? Have you tried grabbing few of these sounds off dvd and putting them on CF card to check if they load up fine ?
