first you need to open up your 2500 and find out what pad sheet you have, sensitronics or interlink. if you happen to have interlink then those are only $60 on mpcstuff. http://www.mpcstuff.com/pad-sensors-wit ... r-mpc.html

i believe the interlink pad sheets are on older 2500 models as they were the same pad sheets from the 2000xl and 4000.. the interlinks are a bit more durable i believe. the sensitonics have had the most reported problems of 2500 users.. the immediate difference in the pad sheets is the size of the ribbon cable.. so they are not interchangeable..

there is also a quick fix you can try, where you cut the sensor sheet on the sensitronics.. check the search, its been discussed here before...

if you feel 100% that your pads are dead and you have nothing to lose try this fix on dead pads..

Thank you! after a lot of time trying to solve this problem, finally I have repaired the 16 pads of my MPC 2500 with this method. I was thinking that the problem was the driver, the ribbon, the software ... etc (because ALL pads were died) but after try cutting one pad with this method, it worked!!! Then, I repaired rest of them. Now MPC works as new... THANKS ;) !!!

joseph, this is an excellent yet small and intuitive solution. I actually thought my MPC wasn’t going to work now and I around three of them lying around, just stumbled on this read, read your fix and got all three of them working again. Might have to give them to someone else though since I don’t work with them but it’s a great feeling knowing that aren’t just anymore.
