So last night was the first time I really was able to get work on my 2500 in a while. Was sampling and chopping for about 12 hours straight. At the end of the session pad 1 started to trigger the drum hit on pad 4, regardless of the program I was on, and the real mind ****, My tempo was set at 183 (I record in double time) and everything, loops and chops, sat perfectly, suddenly the beats off tempo. I thought "damn did i have it set at something else and accidentally hit the tap tempo button?" which messed with my head because the new tempo that everything looped right at was 199, and I swore it was 183 all day. So I shut down the whole studio and called it night. After watching a movie with my girl it was messing with my mind so I went back loaded the whole project saved at a tempo of 199, and it was off beat, turned it back to 183 and it was on beat. I've never seen any model mpc act like this before. I figured the pad triggering is likely a dirty pad sensor sheet, but the floating tempo change has me confused.

EDIT.

I use the free jjos (I prefer the less crammed screen)
