I got a basic keyboard today, I didn't love triggering using the pads for triggering things in my DAW.

I would like to use the keyboard to sequence things in the MPC. My current set up is the MPC is the master. Input 1, and Output A.

If I get another MIDI cord and connect the output from the keyboard to Input 2 on the MPC, when I select the MIDI channel 2A will that cause the sounds to trigger in the DAW while recording the note values on a track?

When you set the currently displayed MPC sequence track to output MIDI on channel 1A, it will send the incoming MIDI notes from the keyboard (any MIDI notes/data coming in to either/both MIDI inputs) to MIDI channel 1 on MIDI output port A.

I assume that the MPC MIDI output A is connected to the computer, and therefore Pro Tools, so the MIDI notes should go into Pro Tools, whenever a track is set to that MIDI output port.

They can also be recorded into the MPC sequencer.
