wav files are showin up as same file??

all my wavs are goin the same as the same cutups i cut em up in fl an there just the same file whats goin on help

There's a 16 character limit to the display, so if the first 16 characters on each file are identical, you'll get this problem - e.g. somelongfilename_001.wav, somelongfilename_002.wav are both shown as 'somelongfilename'

instead name your files 1 songname_title, 2 songname_title, 3 songname... ya know?
If this sounds like a drag to you, if you go and download the free version of JJOS you can do it the way your doing it and even though it wont list the full name of the file, it will still know the difference between all of them. I only use my mpc for live performances similar to araabmuzik and shake beats though. So I'm unaware as to if there are any limitations regarding saving your project files and what not. I know I can still save my settings, pad banks and memory banks with jjos free so I like jjos more than akai OS. Its not like a whole new OS where none of your mode functions or pad assignments match the writing on your faceplate. its more like akai OS on steroids.
