If it really is corrupt flash ROM boot block, and not some other issue preventing the card reader from working correctly, there is a service procedure to recover the boot block.
It requires a special plug in board that contains the test/service program, and it does not seem to be available to purchase.
You can send it to somewhere like VST Service, who have the test/service board, and they will charge a fee to recover the boot block and reload the OS.

I am wondering if the JIG PC Flash ROM MPC2.5K (AJ-771314J) is available to purchase?
I would like to use it to attempt a boot block recovery, as mentioned in the service manual.
Also, out of interest, is the similar part for the MPC1000 available, JIG PC Flash ROM MPC1K (AJ-771312J)?
Thanks,
Simon

1st check the contrast setting to make sure that’s not the issue (if no display) we charge $75.00 to reflash the boot block and reload the currant OS.
