Can I use the pads from the mpc 1000 on the 2500?

Last night I was attempting to solder a tact switch on my mpc1000 and long story short, I messed up and now its only good for parts.

My friend has a MPC2500 with dead pads and I want to know If I can use the parts/pads from the mpc1000 on the 2500?

Also, they are the same generation.

How can I tell if its the pad sensor or the PCB (circuit board part) (http://www.mpcstuff.com/1al4039a502d.html) thats damaged on the 2500?

I guess that you maybe overheated it, and burnt/lifted the metal traces on the PCB?

You can't repair it?

hello- my tact switch is farked on my 2500 ! was wondering if i can swap a tact switch from one of the number buttons to the f5 button.. i do not use the number buttons much so was thinking of swapping the tacts? is this possible? plz holla at me asap!

im broke so i cant really afford tacts at the moment!

Dude those tact switches are like £1 or something. But yeah, of course you can swap one over if its the same size. Just be careful with that soldering iron

I would wait until I saved up the £1 for a new tact switch.

No point moving around used switches, that will just put unnecessary stress on the PCB traces.

Be careful not to overheat and burn/lift PCB traces/pads, if you are not experienced with desoldering/soldering.

If your friend didnt drop the 2500, chances are it's just pad sensors needing replacing
