Hey guys! I just picked up an MPC 2500. I already owned a 5000, and was wondering how I could take .50s programs from my 5000 and put them on my 2500. I already saved my .50s's as PGM files and picked 'save as MPC1000' in the window, but my programs transfer horribly. My pitch changing doesn't save, my volume levels don't save, my panning doesn't save, among other weird little things. Any advice would be amazing! Thanks.

That link has nothing to do with MPC program conversion.

The PGM conversion in the 5000 is basic, so if it's not working for you that's as much as you can expect I'm afraid. The MPC Software can load your 50s files and then convert to 1000/2500 format, but you're then dealing with two conversion processes (50s to XPM, then XPM to PGM) - suffice to say the MPC Software export/import is just as bad as the 5000.

Welcome to the 'iconic legacy' part of the MPC line, where newer MPCs don't always play 'nice' with the previous MPC in the range. They usually get basic pad assignments okay, but after that it's fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Be thankful that you don't have a pre-Numark MPC, because Akai have never supported export to those MPCs whatsoever (import yes, export no - absolute pain when trying to make samplepacks multi-MPC compatible)
