MPC freeze while loading from CF card

Every time I try to create a new folder on my 8GB CF card the mpc freezes. I've left it on for half an hour or so and it stays frozen until I take out the card, then all is back to normal.

Is it possible to transfer files from HD to CF or vice versa?

The card is probably failing. Try reformatting it, and if that fails get a new card.

It's a new card. I fixed errors and defragged it on the PC. Going to try it out now.

The "defrag/fix error" sorted it out. I can now create and save to folder.
