Old Schooler Needs Help with MPC 2500

Whats up and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I just bought a minty looking 2500 with 128mb (no jjos yet) and I'm having some issues with it.

I haven't even touched an mpc since 2004 so please don't flame me too hard haha.

I'm trying to get the internal sounds to play on the pads and I just can't figure it out!

I hit MODE then Pad 2 LOAD. Then I toggle to Load from hard disk. Then I go to file and select the sound I want (I can hear the sound when I hit the F5 button).

It asks me which pad do I want to assign it to and I hit A1 an d Do IT.

Once I hit the pad NO sound comes out! I'm definitely on the right Pad Bank A and I'm hitting the correct pad.

Can you tell me why I'm getting NO sound? It's mad frustrating.

I have owned a MPC 60, 2000, 3000 and s950 so it's embarrassing I can't figure this out.

On the main mode screen, is the current track set to Type:DRUM, the program set to the same program name that you have loaded the sound onto the pad in, such as Pgm:Program01, and is Mute set to OFF?

Do you have pad bank A selected on the front panel pad bank buttons?

In MIDI/SYNC mode, in the [F1]MIDI screen, is Pad to internal sound set to ON?
