Q Link faders/sliders are stiff

Hello all, i'm new to MPC's as of yesterday and I have a question or two about the sliders.

Both of mine are stiff, with the left one being particularly stiff and the right one being far easier to slide, but still offering much more resistance than i'd expect. I'm used to the feel of DJ mixers and I suspect these on the 2500 need either lubricating or replacing, but I can't find any info on maintaining them or replacing them, or even what they're supposed to feel like.

I use Deoxit Fader F100 lubricant on my mixer faders, but are these MPC faders user serviceable, even say with just a few dabs of lubricant? Replacements look to be around $15 from mpcstuff and ebay, which is very cheap compared to mixer faders, so if they aren't serviceable, then are they easy to replace, or is it a soldering job or whatnot?

Replacing the sliders requires soldering, but if the fader is ultimately working (from an electrical perspective) then you should try cleaning and lubricating with appropriate solvents first, it's probably just got a lot of grime caked up inside. Never done this myself, but I'm sure someone else can recommend appropriate solvent and method.

I've just taken the top panel off again and i'm going to try to clean the sliders with Super Servisol 10 and a toothpick. The left slider looks particularly grimy, but I don't like the idea of replacing them anymore, now soldering is involved. One of them looks to have been replaced in the past, as one as the left has a shiny finish and the right one, a grey metal finish.

The left slider feels a lot smoother now after cleaning and lubing it, but not as i'd expect it to feel and i'm not sure that the right one has improved by much. The right slider sounds like it's rubbing and with it being galvanised, it's less slippy than the shiny metal of the Q1 slider.

Thankfully, i've found a new pcb panel replacement online, so that should sort my problem out.
