ProTools 10 / MPC2500 / Projectmix I/O / Rokit 10 3's

Hello,

Looking for guidance here, as I'm a complete noob to this. I have the aforementioned group of pieces (ProTools 10 / MPC2500 / Projectmix I/O / Rokit 10 3's) and I'm looking for the cleanest way to set them up. When I say I'm a noob I mean a NOOB, I'm looking for direction on what to connect to what and where to get the studio functional. Any help that cn be provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would start by reading through the manuals.

Charter 1 page 4 of the MPC manual has an example wiring diagram.

Would have to learn about signal flow (direction), and think it out.

The MPC makes sound, so that sound has to go "out" to something that plays it back
(headphones, or sound card, or mixer, or speaker's amplifier, etc)

MPC has many outputs, but I would start by hooking up the "stereo out" for now.

Setting up a DAW like protools, and a digital mixer / sound card, is quite advanced stuff.

I would suggest starting with the basic, and get your head around signal flow.

If your speakers have a volume knob on them go directly from MPC's Stereo Out,

to the speakers. You can always use the MPCs Master Volume for now too.

Get your MPC setup and start using it. Worry about the sound card / protools later,

or slowly on the side.

Took the words right outta my mouth!. I mean, the RTFM part..

well line out on the project mix 1/2 to the speakers.. maybe line out 3/4 to the inputs on the mpc, and then maybe main outs from the mpc to inputs 1/2 on the project mix, and the individual outputs from the mpc to the rest of your inputs on the project mix. then you use the m-audio software for the project mix to adjust the things you need adjusting like muting things etc...

like the other guys said, maybe read the manual... especially for the project mix.
