Hi,
i have recently purchased a used MPC 2500 and would like to install ad HDD, but when i opened the unit i noticed that the HDM 10 is missing. The seller says that the HDM 10 was optional but what i knew is that it was included in every MPC 2500 and optional in the MPC 1000...Am I wrong or right?
Thanks

Also optional for the 2500. I bought mine brand new in the shop and had to buy and install my own. The white 2500se’s may have been shipped with the HDM 10 preinstalled though. But the OG black ones....nope.

When i bought my mpc 2500 in 2006 the hdm-10 was included, so Akai must have changed that later or it was different in some regions, just like the factory cf-card - that was 32mb in the beginning and it still says so in the product archive, but some machines had a 128mb cf-card included.
In the original user manual v1.0 for the mpc 2500 there is the installation procedure for a harddisk and it says that the hdm-10 is already in the machine.
When you look at the product archive for the mpc2500 it now says that the hdm-10 is optional like the exm128 and the cd-m25.
For the mpc 1000 the hdm-10 was always an optional extra.
