Just bought a mpc 2500se. Im new to mpcs but have used other samplers for many years. Not that things translate from one to another. But with having some knowledge of samplers should i learn the 2500 with the akai os or buy jjos and just learn on it? Thanx for any help!!!

The free JJOS. It's very close to the original Akai OS, so even with the original manual easy to learn.

Free JJOS is a good place to start yea, then if you like using the 2500 you can treat yourself with a beautiful JJOS XL or OS3 (same licence/price) depending if you're rather MIDI oriented or sample oriented. Imo JJ OS3 is better if you do mostly samples without much MIDI. OSXL has better MIDI edit capabilities, with a nice looper as well to track out easily the audio from your midi instruments to have everything consolidated into the MPC.

This, worked that way for years.

Have fun with your MPC!
