2500 restoration os question

Hey, just got a pretty beaten up 2500, it has couple of switches to be replaced, pots and caps maybe.
I want to take it apart and clean/repair piece by piece.
Question is - it has license for JJOS3 and i don't want to wipe it out from memory. If i take out mobo will the OS and license stays ?

The OS/license is saved on the mainboard somewhere. So if u swap the mainboard to another machine it will have JJOS3 then. It does not get wiped when just taking it out and at some point putting it back again it should still be there.
