I am curious to know who intends to upgrade to the MPC 2500 now or in the future?

Just curious to know who would upgrade from their existing models..not complain about the price or any 'bugs' that you believe it may have (but this is a public forum so go ahead and speak your mind) :D
It will cost $2000 stock this year..so deal/not deal with it :P

Ok now..I am offended

I do have integrity..especially when I am spending my own money to get a few for my personal use. I am going to put that MPC to every test..you can bet your last dollar..and I will post everything I find...good or bad.

Think I might could not afford the 4000 so got the 1000. But now the hard drive and cd are built in I think I will have the upgrade. Will save time collecting samples as I can do this from the built in drive and save everything on the built in hard drive. All built in and small enough to fit in the backpack

i guess there is a setting Tutor has to set and didn't/forgot to do it on this section because this is the only one that guests can do it on (i think) i just logged off and tried to go into the other mpc sections and it kept prompting me to log on.

i would rather spend money on an asr10 and a 12bit sampler or a sp 1200 to go with my mpc1000. i dont think i'll make the upgrade its a modified 1000 . pint sized 4000. i really dont see the need for all those extra features.

Its only 16 bit!

It only has 4 banks per program.

I'm not gonna get either, but if I was looking to drop 2 grand on an MPC, I'ma drop 2500 and get a 4000. I think I've said this before....

I clicked 'maybe'.

I like the extra functionality a lot, especially the ability to record cuts over a beat, the 4 midi outs are welcome, and USB could be handy.

But I definitely won't buy it within the next 12 months. I'll wait for the price to come down to a sensible level, or better yet, for second hand units to appear. That took about 12-18 months after release with the 1000, so I'm expecting it to be the same with the 2500. I remember the 1000 was about €1100 on release - you can get a bare bones unit s/h for about €600-650 now.

Also, the wait will allow any bugs or niggles to be identified and hopefully adressed. If it turns out the sound isn't as good, the sequencer isn't as tight or it isn't as stable as my 2000xl, I won't be switching at all (although in that case I might someday switch to a MPC60.... :) )
