Hmm the Toshiba 40 Gig is €70 here, any word on CD drives?

The mounting kit is already in the MPC. You pull it out, insert the drive, and then insert it back into the MPC. It is really easy to access. Same goes for memory. This is a port that you easily open and insert memory. I will try to locate a HD today and non-Akai memory to test it in the MPC.

I have received no word on the CDRW drive...I was thinking about attemtping to install a lap top CDRW drive in it....

Good luck, those tests it would make a nice addition to your review and if your MPC gets broken, others will know not to mess with it :)

Its cool to start seeing whats new with the 2500! I was going to cop a 1000, but I didnt know the Akai was coming out with the 2500 until a few days ago. So now ima wait to see what the buzz is on the 2500 & make my decision from there! Good lookin out peeps! :D

Id personally stay away from ANY Hitachi drive. Hitachi is actually bought (!) the IBM hd manufacturing department. And theres a reason they called it the "ibm deathstar" instead of the "ibm deskstar".. Search this board for more info or search google for more info.. Just a heads up.
