I want to thank Aprim for that Alto Music price. Found a reputable company to match them. I won't be getting it for about a month or so, but who cares. I'm on the waiting list. Hopefully around Christmas I will have it. And I love the $1,590 price tag

That's a great price. While you're waiting for the 2500 you can shop for your memory, hard drive, and CD-M25. And don't forget the new cables too!

No! No one said it was released. He's getting the 2500 in about a month or so. By that time CD-M25 will be here one way or another.

Alto Music has a good price on the 2500. Think of the 2500 as an upgrade from your 2000XL. As long as you have no problem with paying for it, you will enjoy the new features. Having a quick internal hard drive is reason enough to get the new MPC. You won't have to deal with Zip drives, SCSI, noisy external drives, etc. What features interest you the most?

NO!
I (hopefully we) don't ignore newbies. We were all newbies at one time

From my experience with both units, the MPC 2500 is hands down better than the 2000XL.

As far as the CD-M25, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't sleeping on the US release date. Just days away from installing mine :P

Well I use Logic Pro and Reason usually, I am new to this hardware. I am still in the process of reading my manual for my 2000xl. I had watched the video on Sample Kings on the 2500 and I was just wondering if I wasted my money on the 2000xl as apposed to the 2500.

I don't think you wasted your money. But having the additional functions of the 2500 for the price several of us have been getting them for is money well spent.

Using Logic Pro and Reason with either MPC is a nice set-up.

Does the 2500 have a USB connect?

J-Gunz,

Let me welcome you to the forum again. Yes, the MPC 2500 has a USB port that functions the same as the USB port on the MPC 1000.

There are quite a few threads on some of the features that are found in the MPC 2500. I would start there if you are looking for the basic info about this new MPC.

Would you mind sharing which company matched that price?!

I'm in the same boat, plan to get mine on christmas if someone can match that price of $1,590!! that would be a no brainer to get it.

thanx

Why not just contact Alto?
Historically when things have been in short supply Alto has always managed to get them faster than most places.
I guarantee it won't be as long a wait for them to get it as the people matching the price.

Also J-Gunz, if you just got the 2000xl, take time to learn it before you decide if you need different MPC.
The 2500 has some nice feature changes but they may or may not be things you would benefit from.
The black eye in the game is the new 1000 O.S. it's really gonna blur the lines between the MPC's.
