2 month anniversary: MPC 2500 Feature request

Its been just over 2 months since the release of the MPC 2500. Currently, it is operating on OS 1.00b. Although it peforms well for the most part, there are some issues that need to be addressed quickly with an OS update, mainly the note-off 'bug' with MIDI OUTS C and D. This feature need to have top priority.

Other than tweaking the currect OS so that it performs flawlessly...here is my list of features that I would like to see in a future OS upgrade (in no particular order):

1. Multiple Continuous sample tracks (16 minimum). Allow the audio in these tracks to follow tempo changes in realtime. Allow Patched Phrases to be assigned to these Continuous sample tracks.
2. Recording/streaming samples directly to/from hard disk
3. Enhanced effects/dynamics (EQ for each sample). Effect Presets.
4. MTC sync
5. Expanded sequencer (300,000 notes per sequence..just because)
6. Data compatibility w/ all Akai S/MPC formats, and Roland/Emu CD Roms
7. Sample editing: Resampling, coverting stereo-mono, and mono-stereo
8. CD burning: Data back up and Audio CD recording
9. Screen Saver
10. Quantization: Place note shift back in the Timing Correct Menu
11. Recordable track mutes
12. Auto assign of samples to program upon loading
13. Auto Chromatic Assignment
14. Display levels when sampling 2500 outputs
15. Aksys Software for the 2500
16. Sample slice: generate sequence data for sliced samples (slightly different than Patched Phrase).
17. Better implementation of USB (pain in the azz plugging/un-plugging USB cables )

The MPC 2500 could be perfect with these added functions I can use the 2500 just fine without these functions....but having these functions will take it to another level.

So exactly how do you shift notes in the 2500. Please don't tell me it's like the 1000 I heard it's complicated to shift notes on the 1000.

Auto Chromatic Assignment, and cd burning would make me run and get the 25k right now.

Who ever told you that shifting notes is complicated doesn't know how to use their MPC.

With the latest two MPCs, Akai moved the shift note function to the sequence editing menu. Its exactly the same as the other MPCs. Only the location is different.

Hmmn needs alot of work before Winter Holidays. Maybe next Jan or Feb update 2006.

I hope so..because the #1 reaon why I bought the MPC 2500 is the function that doesn't work well (MIDI OUTS C and D)

Jahrome... another one for the list, and correct me if technically I am mistaken here.... but the MPC 2500 supports DRUM program types but NOT KEYGROUP program types. I believe this makes the akai s950 inoperable with the MPC 2500. Another request for Akai don't you think? The 3000 and 60 had it.

The S950 is just a sampler/MIDI sound module. It will work fine MIDI upped to the 2500. KEYGROUP programs don't come into play. What are you trying to do? Are you asking whether the 2500 will load programs created on the S950?

I thought the s950 organized its sounds by keygroups and the mpc required keygroup program types to work well with it. It was a shot in the dark. All that said... what is the difference between DRUM and KEYGROUP program type.

* Edit Options in ChopShop on chopped regions (Reverse, Normalize, etc)
* Q-Link assignments to more than one pad. Perhaps assign q-links to a mute group.
* Allow both sets of Q-Link to be used in MIXER mode to effect LEVEL and PAN.
* Allow a Q-Link Slider/Knob to be assigned as a crossfader to allow cross fading between samples. Being able to set the fader curve as a parameter would be dope...

I would like to be able to assign different sounds in the same program to different tracks. That way I could record all of my drums in real time, but have the kick, snare, hat, etc. on different tracks.

I would also like a better USB interface. It's stupid that you have to unplug the USB after you've used it to use the MPC again.
