Peace My People

I finally set my sh@t up and I'm almost 100% satisfied with my purchase, but I need a little insight from ya'll.

MY 2500 is the Triton's MIDI Master

I have Sonar 5.0 as the Master for the MP so I can record audio data in sync.

let's say i use triton drums on MIDI Track 1a on the MP, but I want some strings from the triton for Track 2, How would I set this up?

I've been reading through the manual looking for the answer but I can't seem to locate it. I think I might have to assign my prog's or combis to different MIDI channels but I don't know how to do that yet. Can anyone pleeze help me out hea?

track2 midi type, step edit, program change, input the number of the program you wish for track2 to play at 001.01.00. Now, whenever that seq starts track2 will automatically play that track.

Learn about program changes and you can get more and more tracks to do the same thing..

EASIER way is to place the instruments in the triton 16 tracks, you know, the ones you wanna use. and give each track a midi number. Now on your mpc seq, just use a midi type track and use a midi number for whatever triton track you wanna use on that mpc midi type track. This way there is now confusing program change input in step edit. Just load up the triton tracks with 16 instruments.

That's what I do.

I simply select the sounds on the Triton that I want to use, and put them into tracks in Sequencer mode. Example, Strings on Track 1, Bells on Track 2, Piano on Track 3, etc.

Then on the MPC, for example, I assign a track to MIDI 1A for the strings, another track MIDI 2A for the bells, and another track MIDI 3A for the piano, and so on.

Then I name the MPC save the same exact name as the Triton save, so I can easily load up both files and just press play on the MPC.
