2500 Tempo Issues

What's up? i'm tracking some songs from the mpc into digital performer and am noticing a huge difference in bpm from the mpc vs. digital performer.

I used to do this on the mpc1000 and the tempos would match up exactly. Beats at 94.9 bpm on the mpc are now 87bpm in digital performer. Talk about an extreme difference.

The beats sound the same but i don't understand why the huge fluctuation in tempos. Anyone else running into this type of issue?

so i just imported a 90bpm drum loop from my mac into the mpc and it looped fine. I have no idea why loops recorded from the mpc to the mac are off tempo-wise. I'm tracking as audio with no timecode or beat clock set.

that's probably why. set DP to sync via midi clock. with nothing set, DP is not going to know what the tempo of the mpc is.

even then it shouldnt matter, if you record into DP without syncin up the MPC it shouldnt change the tempo of whats bein recorded.

I hear you but I should be able to record a 90 bpm loop from the mpc into DP and have it loop at 90 without using midi beat clock. I'm recording 6 to 8 tracks in one pass and manually setting the tempo. You'd think the mpc would keep a 90bpm tempo regardless of sync.

here's a hat loop at 90 bpm according to my 2500. let me know if your sequencer and mpc show it at 90bpm. thanks.

so i attempted to duplicate this issue this morning thinking I may have been tired and doing something wrong. not the case.

Is it possible that my mpc's internal tempo is off by 7bpm?

This thing might be going back if I can't figure this issue out.

oh well. I solved my own issue. Turns out my knee bumped my sample rate button my a/d convertor so my mac was clocked to 48k while the mpc is at 44.1k. that explains the tempo difference. Too many variables ...
