Erasing Demo kits

Was just wondering if anyone can offer me any insight on how I can erase the demo kits that came with the mpc2500 on seq's 1-6. "Ill hip hop,patched phrase etc" the kits are starting to really piss me off and take up so much memory

From what I understand, you cannot erase them but you can turn em off.
I don't remember how it's done but you should search the 1000 forums, you'll find it there.

From what I understand from the manual is that you have to overwrite them. You must use the 5mb the best you can, make and save that much information; save "all programs and samples". I haven't done this yet, but soon...

Would hooking up the usb to my computer then formatting the mpc2500 do me any good it shows up as 488mb? I assume that would delete the os too so im not too sure. Whats everyones take here? bad goood?

i just hooked mine(2500) to the pc and dropped the whole "internal" folder into a folder i created on my pc. i then put my own sounds back in... hope this helps

I guess you just dont want to load up the factory soundsets when you power up your MPC, right? These are stored in the internal flash memory. You cannot connect the internal flash memory to your PC. What you see is most probably the compact flash card in your MPC.

If you dont really need the space in the flash memory (around 5 MB), try just turning the "Autoload" function off (see manual p. 110). You can also set it to automatically load up sounds from a special folder on your CF card or harddisk.

There is also a way of overwriting the flash memory with own sounds, if you really need it, p. 111. If you still need these afterwards, they are still stored on the 32MB CF card that came with your MPC.

Figured it all out, had to just highlight the damn thing and window and delete all those damn things. Appreciate the help bros
