Play Start Button Problem

My boy came over a while ago and showed me how to use the play start button (I was rewinding my seqs. manually).

Anyway I've been using it for about a week and I noticed when I DO push the play start button my seqs. start a little off.

I rewind manually and it's cool, but if I push Play/Start...

I tried with a different seq. and noticed the same thing.

Could somebody please confirm if this is, either default functionality, or a bug.

Not much help to you but when i push Play Start is starts from the very beginning (001.01.00)

it starts from 1.00.00 but...

when i press play (after manually rewinding to one) it is perfect

I press play/start and it's like the initial attack on the sequence is reduced. Not enough to the point where your sending akai tech support crazy emails, But definitely discernible. I'm figuring if someone else HEARS this, then it's either the way the feature works or a bug.

One thing i forgot to mention this happens ONLY when i'm synched to my Triton


I think it might be MIDI lag but anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

synced to the triton means that ur mpc is synced to the trition. I have my MPC as the master.

I know what synched to the Triton means I thought you meant you had your TRITON as the Master.

This has happend to me also with my Motif Rack. The drums from the mpc start fine but the notes from the rack seem a little off. It mostly happens when play start is pressed but I've also had this happen in song mode, while the song is switching sequences, theres like a small pause with the notes from my rack.

Hmm, doesn't sound good! I'm gonna try this with some VSTs through cubase. Just need some cables first.

Just to put more info out there with this glitch and song mode if you convert the multiple seq (song) to one sequence it doesnt have the short delay with the notes. So I was thinking that it is a problem with play/start. I wasn't really sweating it because I figured it would get fixed with the os update. Could this be another problem with the midi ports though?

Depending on which MIDI devices you use as well as whether the MPC is set as the slave or master...you may get a slight delay when you start a sequence. I reported this to Akai months ago.

When I slave my MPC to Nuendo and use Nuendo's transport to stop a sequence..the MPC stops..starts again shortly..and then stops.

As far as the Triton..it has the worst MIDI specifications than practically every modern workstation. The MIDI functions on the Motif ES Rack is not that great as well..not sure if the Motif Rack is the same as well. These devices may add to the MPC 2500 MIDI issues..

Moving forward is there anything WE can do about this? Or do we have to cross our fingers and hope an OS update fixes this one too?
