The aksys program ?

I know it works for the 4000.
anyone try it with the 2500?

The aksys program is a free program from Akai that is used to transfer samples between your computer and your MPC 4k (or your z4,z8, or s6000).

In addition, with the 4k you can assign sounds to pads directly from your keyboard/mouse

ez bro, always good to see a gearslut ova here...the 4k has the same architecture sampler as the z4/z8. The 2500 is cmpletely different, and currently ak.sys cant be used with it.

I thought blue box didn't have full functionality with the 2500 yet?

compared to MPC 187? It does more...

ak.sys is very good, I used to use it with my z8.
i dont know how easily AKAI can (or will) open it up to samplers with different architectures.
So much of the program (based on their other full samplers) has no relevance in MPC land. eg keygroups.

It doesn't allow you to program the two knobs. I have used it just fine.
