I just got a 2500 and its my first MPC ever. What I want to do is use the MPC as my main sequencer instead of my software or my keyboard, but how can I sequence the sounds from my keyboard into the MPC? Thanks for the help!

through MIDI. read the mpc's manual regarding midi connections and read the keyboard's manual on midi connections. put the 2 of them together and you should be able to connect your gear.

for more information, do a search on here for midi connections.

Thanks Sparq but I not that much of a newbie. I already have my midi cables hooked up. So far I've been just sampling one sound at a time from my keyboard into the RECORD screen of the 2500 then making new samples from the first sound I sampled by changing the tune in the PROGRAM screen, then replaying the pattern that I played on the keyboard with the pads on the MPC. Is there a way to record it as i'm playing on the keyboard?

yes, one way is to use the keyboard and record the midi events on the mpc or since you have the 2500, just use the continuous track recording to record the keyboards audio.

i know you explained the situation but what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

i think he likes to not only sequence to hear his midi gear playing, but at the same time (or else time) record all the sequenced as well as live played audio to his mpc to mixdown all audio in the mpc...

direct recording is the magic trick, but the manual is very confusing about this and continous sample, especially for peeps new to mpc...

i like some help in that matter, too, something like a little video tutorial. :)
