Grid/Swing?

Can I apply swing to the grid mode during and/or after programming it?
Any light shed on the new swing parameters and any interesting facts you have encountered with grid mode would be appreciated as well.

If you program your sequence 1st in the grid and then fix the time correct to a swing setting that workd for me

Oh nice, I could really use that. So, you grid a particular track or whatever, then set the swing?

Lemme ax you this tho, if you follow:
is it like in the 2K and XL where, once you have swung something,
you can only step edit with timing off (meaning you can't see step or, in this case grid AFTER swing is done in a particular quantize), or are you able to change your grid programming again even after it has been swung?

sory blud i don no about the 2k and others the 2500 is my first MPC yet :-)
but about yer question im pretty sure once uv recorded your sequence and set a time correct then whatever u set in the step edit over rides it

You can set the timing before, during, or after recording a sequence in grid mode..or whether you used swing or not..or note shift or not..


As far as the 2000/XL..you can step edit notes with timing on or off..even after you use swing or note shift. Now if your sequence is set at 1/16 for recording and you later shift a particular note so that it is not on a 1/16 note anymore..then yes, you will have to turn off the timing..or, you will have to set the MPC so that it jumps from event to event vs step to step.

Yeah that makes perfect sense, although, having just read your
'os report card' post, now I realize I omitted something.
I was also interested in the earlier/later shift. It appears this
is still not available. Or am I wrong and it's just in another screen,
separate from swing?

That was my major worry: that there IS swing in or separate from grid mode, but NOT early/late shift per track.
