... are there any known limitations in the mpc 25k os regarding the amount of folders per level? or regarding folder in folder in folder etc. how many levels are possible (and besides that, of practical use)?
anyone got into trouble yet for having too many folders or files in one folder on the hdd?
i´m asking because i have now about 40 folders on my root level, most of them have subfolders within, some are up to 12 levels deep.

by the way is it posible to browse directories topside down? sometimes it is annoying that always have to scroll down the whole list if you need the last folder or last sample. even in program mode it adds the newest samples last, so if i want to use them again i must scroll all the way.

any info on that?

there is a thread where people had problems when there are too many items in a folder. Do a search for more detail. It was pretty recent.

I would like to know if there is a quicker way to loading samples into programs then scrolling all the way through the list with the wheel....
that can be a major pain in the a$$.

Yeah download that bluebox program, search on here, you make the programs on the PC then transfer them to the MPC

yes I have done that.

I was hoping there was a page down or something. It would also be nice if there was a way to quickly jump to a sample starting with a certain letter, maybe with the shift key and hitting the pad w/ the letter. Also, I wish it didn't always start you from the first sample in memory and instead started with the sample that you assigned to the previous pad.

thanks for the replies...

i will ask akai directly about the filesystem on the mpc, maybe they are answering this time, since something like filesystem capacity is clearly a technical fact i like to be published.

about the sample searching: i like the idea with the shift key and the pad like emjay said. i will enclose this in my email to akai, mabey they get this into the next update.
the manual is very unclear about the shift key. there is not much documented what u can do with it (except for the note repeat hold function).
