Newjack Needs Knowledge

What up? Purchased my first mpc, THE 2500. Nice weapon although I am just learning. I don't know much about production or hooking up everything, but I am learning as I go. I have made some sequences and turned them into songs. My reason for posting is regarding this. If I transfer songs or sequences via usb onto my computer, they are not playable as music. I can however, change the Type from DRUM to MIDI and save the sequences, and they will play on the computer, buuuut the sounds are all different. Basically, I am wondering how I can transfer songs sounding the same as I make them on the MPC to the computer via USB, in .wav or mp3 format. I was talking to someone who said he saves everything as .wav and transfers no problem, but I don't see the option and can't find anything in the manual. Props in advance to anyone who can help. Once you create your sequence/song, go into the Record menu. Hit the Play Start button then select Record to Re-sample your seuence/song to turn it into a .wav file.

You can then save this file to move it to your PC via USB or if you have the CDRW burner, you can burn it on-board the MPC.

the only thing is tho if the sequence is big you gotta get the EXM128 or some more internal memory to record it onto otherwise it might not fit.

hay jahrome, you seem to know a lot about all MPC's. i was wonderin which one is your personal favourite?

Before the MPC 2500 dropped, my favorite was the MPC 3000. I had the limited edition version that I have used for years. When the 2500 dropped, it took the place of the 3000 immediately. The only things I miss about the 3000 is the way it was built (I like large a clunky beats) and the that you can assign 2 different MIDI channels for each track. Now that I think about it...let me add this to my MPC 2500 wish list

As far as brainwashing....I like most MPCs However, if I was giving advice on purchasing a brand new MPC, I would opt for the 2500 or MPC 4000. The 4000 would be the choice if you were looking for a multi-sampler and the 2500 for the die hard phrase sampling producers.

But...you can always go MPC 2500 and Z4(which is dirt cheap..new or used)

cool man, those MPC 3000 look similar to the MPC 60 an very nice indeed.

just a quick question tho, is multisampling when you have a individually recorded sound for each note? like as opposed to just pitch shifting?
