I really have to say man, I luv the mpc2500.
I just got it and I'd have to say its my favorite mpc yet. Ive owned 2 mpc2000xl and 1 mpc4000.
I like its feel better than the 4000. ALthough the 4000 has a shit load more features.........and in its own right the 4000 is the king....
The 2500 is a summary of exactly what I need from the 4000 and 2xl. The only thing I miss are the autochromatic and the data wheel..
Anyways, the 2500 exceeded my expectations. I recently sold my 4000 cause of my budget, (not cause I wanted to go to the 2500). Well, i just got the 2500 for 1500 because its what I could afford; i cant live without an mpc. I was expecting some sort of downgrade from the 4000, but seriously it feels like an upgrade. When I got my 4000 I still liked the 2xl overall feel better. I like the 2500 cause it keeps that 2xl feel, but brings it up to date.
I am not missing much from the 4000. Most of its features that are over the top of other mpcs, to be honest, I never really needed to use-granted I am mainly sampling vinyl, and using the occasional bass pgm, and connected with modules, so by no means did i ever need all the features. but for 1500 on the 2500, thats a **** deal. the 2500 has more bang for buck
just thought Id share
peace
