Is OS 1.1 usable?

I want to upgrade from my MPC1000 to an MPC2500. Is the current OS decent enough or is there a reason to wait for the next OS before switching (since the MPC1000 works perfect)?

i´d take a few known bugs in the current os plus the chances of further updates over malfuctioning pads anytime...

the OS of the MPC 1000 is not perfect...

by no means it the 1000 "perfect" but it has been bettered developed than the 2500 at this current point in time. I also plan on upgrading to a 2500 when they release a few more os updates.

id wait until you can guarantee on the 2500 that when u work on a program and save it, it doesnt die when u try n load it when you come back lol then get the 2500.

To be fair the only problem I'm having with 1.1 is the display in grid edit not showing the first bar properly, the timer going up in full bar increments and the level meter showing as full. This only happens when syncing from Logic and doesn't affect the sound in any way. Being a bit of a pedant over quirks like this I'd still like it fixed.

This is what I'm talking about. I'm not trying to attack the MPC2500... I am looking to own one. However, I work on the MPC1000 and it does not get in my way... it does not give me errors. I am looking to find out if these bugs still exist before I buy. Please help and be honest.

It doesn't crash...like the MPC2500's is rumored to do.

till now i have not experienced a full lock up of the machine that would force me to reboot.
what i have seen are some annoying little tings like randomly the machine jumps to random page of the os, mainly when i press f5 or f6 instead of performing the requested operation. thus no data is lost and i can jump right back to where i worked and get the desired result in the second try, sometimes it kills the workflow a bit. it happens like one time a week, so its not that big of an issue.
another thing i noticed is that my qlinks are not always working properly. sometimes they affect eachother, so if i push q1 the q3 also will change a bit.
this is mostly noteable in the mixer: everytime i pull q1 down the q3 is turned a bit to the left. i haven´t figured out yet if it is just a graphical glitch or if it is audible as well.

how are you saving your files

I've never had that happen

and for the record my machine has never crashed either

Well, it sounds like the OS is at a usable stage to me... I'm gonna have to nab one.

i dont have to give you a example on how its better developed i dint say it was greater but it is better developed on the fact that it has been out alot longer and had more time to deal with issuses and os situations so please put your gun down and back away from your precious 2500 lol be easy .......
