problem/ques with chopping samples...

finally got the damn thing..and while the overall feel is cool...for some reason when i want to set the start/end points of samples in TRIM view, the datawheel doesnt sync up...i.e. nothing happens! ive had to chop up samples in soundforge and usb/drag drop for now..but has anyone had this problem?

is there something im missing or do i need to send this thing for repair? btw the datawheel works fine with all other functions..but when setting start end..i move data wheel (even use the +/- keys, ) and the start end points dont move. PLEASE HELP...good lookinout.

-when i change the numbers with numeric keys, there is no way to finalize the number i selected (i.e. an 'ENTER' key or something)...i change the numbers..and as soon as i move to 'END'..it ignores the number i changed it to.

-also, i move to ST, move the data wheel..spin and spin...NOTHING happens...used an 2000XL for about a year..so i thought i knew how ot use this function..i think its an odd error and i may hav to send this thing back.

try page 51, 2500 manual.

If I had a 2500 and had the same problem I wouldv'e tried the q-links myself.

The data wheel and the -/+ buttons baaaaaarely move the start and end points.


But, if you go to the left side... hold down "After" under Q1 knob, and use the sliding scale under it, it lets you move the start point quickly. Same goes with the Q2 "After" knob and slider and the end point.



If that doesnt work - maybe somethings wrong with the machine.

You can increase the increments of each turn by holding shift and the left cursor

ajax, this turned out to be the problem. on the 2000xl, as long as the sample isnt too large, you turn the wheel, see it move...the 2500 wheel is almost useless in TRIM mode to me, unless you really just want to sit there and twirl your pointer finger around for 20 min. Qlink slide function is the answer. chop chop & move..

i know lamp figured it already but there is an enter button withn the numeric keys

Bena i just made a post about this, if you select the start point for example, hold down shift and press the left cursor button top increase the increments at which the data wheel moves...

If i didn't explain it well, page 63 of the manual.

Jay Harps method is what i use, just lets you move in tens, hundreds and thousands etc instead of 1 2 3 4 etc.

Press the shift key and move the curser left in trim mode to increase the number by which the data wheel turns.
