Mine so far are

RECOVERY: 80
TRESHOLD: 60
SENSITVITY: 70

But i'm just getting my feet wet on the 2500. Would love to know
what settings you are using to get that "recycle" chop where every
every attack is perfectly (as much as possible) seperated from each other

I just use "Recycle."

Impossible with the current OS. The 2500 can only chop into a max of 64 parts...there isn't such a limit with Recycle...which I have but don't use that much.

Good Topic....I have been using the slice funtion because I can't get any good results with the chop shop, but I've been lowering the default # not raising the #s from 50..

yea i just do divide into 8 equal parts and arrange them manually. ive gotten some decent chops out of autochop, but they always seem to be a little bit before the drum hits, but otherwise ok. seems like akai needs to do a little fine tuning.

I stick with Logic/Phatmatik and Recycle for timestretching/chopping duties, not overly impressed with chopshop (or the timestretch function) on the MPC (2500) but to be fair I was already well settled into the above workflow before getting the MPC.

Why would you want more than 64 on a mpc? (not what you saying, i know) You only got 64 pads to have sounds on. I can't see chopping a sample that much. Unless it lasted like 4 minutes.

I don't really need to have more than 64 chopped parts...but the MPC 2500 can support it if this function is added. While there are only 16 pads/4 banks, you can use up to 64 programs per sequence. You can spread the chopped samples over multiple programs..if that is something someone would want to do.

it can already do it now, just chop a sample into 64, then chop each of those into 64, then you'll have every pad on every bank in every program filled with really small samples.

That is a work around...yes. But it is not the same as Recycle where there is practically no limit to the number of sections a sample can be chopped into.

the wonders of computer programs........

Akai could possibly add this to the MPC as well.
