Does the MPC2500 contain an autochromatic feature as in the MPC2000XL?

Not yet. But we are hoping for it in a future OS tuneup. We aren't getting our hopes up too high but we are crossing our fingers.

When I first read the thread I thought it said, "Autochromatic or MPC2500?".

You good just doing that for others who hit this thread up. Helps decrease the number of same questions dealing with that particular topic.

whats the main difference between auto chromatic and 16 levels tunning besides it just being a program.

man....i have the Blank_Melodic.pgm inside the 2500........but I can't got it to work. I must be doing something wrong.

steps:
I load the Blank_Melodic, select it as the program
Load a bass sample onto pad 1.
Set type to "MIDI"

when I hit the keys on the Motif....it a no go!
only one key plays a sound....and that's the sound that i loaded on Pad 1.

school me!
Please

Nuk. In the 2000xl with a few quick button pushes you could create a chromatic program across the 4 banks of 16 pads. From B(0) to about D#(6), (???? not 100% sure of the notes). The program is created with its own name, depending on the sample name used to create the chromatic program. The sample would have to be a part of the samples loaded into the pads/program at the time you are making music. This is the the Auto-Chromatic function.
The 2500 as far as I know, I don't own one, does not have this feature. To create a similar chromatic program in the 2500 you need to load the sound to each pad manually. This is my understanding(???).
