M Audio Midi controller issue with MPC 2500..Help!!

Hello everyone. Thanks in advance for the help. I am new to this forum so go easy on me.

I have gone from my MPC2000XL to the MPC 2500. I have a Korg Triton Rack Module and a Proteus 2000 sound module. I have the M-Audio midi out going to the midi in 2 of the MPC 2500.
I then have the midi out A & B pf the MPC going to the Triton and Proteus respectively.
When I go to make a new sequence I can't gget any sound out of either module using the M-Audio midi controller. When I connet the controller to either sound module it works fine so I know my midi controller is working and sending a signal. Also when I use the pads on the MPC both modules work fine. I just can't play with the pads.
I have the MPC 2500 set up as follows:
On the main screen

Type:midi
Pgm No:1
Midi:1B

On the MIDI/SYNC screen

Active track to recieve channel:aALL
Soft thru:AS TRACK
Sequence change by program change:OFF
Pad to internal sound:OFF

One my 2000XL I used this same set up with no problems. Can I get any help? I have read the manual, update my OS, searched this forum and checked all the settings on my Triton rack & Proteus that I can think of.

change the Soft Thru to omni or something like that . I had that problem earlier and that worked for me (I think). Sorry if I cant be specific as I am not in the lab right now to check it out for you.

Well I reset all the settings on my MPC, the M Audio midi controller and my sound card. I am still having the same problem. I am going to try calling Akai on Monday & if they are no help then I will return the 2500 back to the store & get a 4000.

Turns out nothing was wrong with the MPC 2500. The signal from the midi controller was too weak for some reason so the MPC was not getting it. I now have to go thru my MOTU sound cards midi in & out to the MPC then it will send it to the sound modules. The only catch is now I have to set all the IN/OUT midi settings on Nuendo in order to make it work. I will have to see about the problem with the M Audio midi controller signal or get a different one to go back to the old configuration but at least now i can work.
