Hook your MPC to your computer via USB. Make sure you have downloaded the new OS and have it unzipped and all that jive. Hit [MODE] plus LOAD and connect the MPC to your computer. Copy the OS .bin file and either drag it onto your compact flash card or "copy and paste" it to the CF card. Then, disconnect the MPC from the comp and then load the OS .bin file from the CF card. Follow the instructions and VIOLA!!! There you go! All you really had to do is read the OS update thread and follow those instructions!
There are only 2 things in life that are guaranteed... Death and Taxes. I'm comin' to collect !!

My friend had the exact same problem when we were trying to update his mpc2500. What had happend is that the OS was corrupt or got corrupted while being installed. He had to return it back to the store and it was shipped off back to AKAI. In exchange he was giving a new one.

Someone posted up a good tip earlier, take out the CF card and palce the latest OS onto it with a card reader. Make sure it's in the root of the CF card, not hidden in a folder
THen put it back into your MPC and turn it on whilst holding the window button, it should then ask if you want to update the OS

No problem, would you mind doing me a favour please?
Check my thread a about the looping problem i'm having.
All you need to do is set loop to off in the main page, begin recording a sequence and see whether it stops after 2 bars or not.
Cheers
