Filters on 2500??

How good are they? I make drum'n'bass and I'd love to have a nice SHARP highpass filter that SCREAMS with the resonance up...you know, like an overdriven, treblely, almost-white-noise kind of sound?

I used to run a few d&b labels.....

Filters arent great on the 2500.

Do you have one ? If its d&b you're making I certainly wouldnt take an MPC as my first choice.

If its akai you want then go with a z4 or z8, else pick up an Emu Ultra series...they go dirt cheap now...

I do have a Virus C that I could run sounds thru...would you recommend that instead??

YEEEEEESS!!!! virus sound processing especially in stuff synth-related like filters is always going to sound better than the mpc. i know they are becoming more sampler oriented, but we cant forget that the mpc was a much better sequencer than sampler, and the sampler, while functional, is very limited. im glad to see akai beefing it up with the new line, but still, its not going to sound as good as something more dedicated to sound manipulation.
