QUick Question----I have a couple of sweet samples that cut out during my sequences. For example I have a guitar sound that extends---it's a note that is held and has tremolo for several seconds and sounds sweet. However, when I put it in my sequence, it just cuts out??? I don't understand....can anyone explain this?

This happens with several samples....By the way, if I solo the track, the sound is good but as soon as I put on all tracks, it cuts out...??? Polyphony maybe???

Are you using that PGM on another track and have it set to mono?

Yes I am using it on another track but I definitely have it set to poly...

is the sample running into another sample on the same track.

ie does it run into the next sample on the same track more than 6-7 ticks?

I found that cuts some samples short sometimes.. even if on poly.

Lampdog----I don't believe that's the case...it is on its own track

Put the sample into it's own pgm. that should be a good work around

ZAM13----Can you explain how this might help? You think that it is a problem with being in a program with other sounds? Can you give some insight into that?

Anyone got a clue how this could be fixed? I've run lately into this issue several times and it's fcking irritating. Program is on poly and I've even tried to create an own program for the longer samples. I don't want to accept that my beat is ruined cos of this :(

Nope. And if the sound that is cutting of would share a mute group with another long sound, the sounds come after each other. So there isn't such playing with the mutegroup sounds that would cancel the sound after half of the sample is played.

This is weird all in all. I think it's the first bug(if it is a bug)that I've come up with mp's.

It is definitely a polyphony problem. What happens is too many sounds are hitting with that sound. If you delete or mute something that hits at the exact same time (maybe a sound that is not that important) you will solve this problem. Yeah it sucks but it is what it is and that's a ****. This is the only way around this that I have discovered....

Yeah, that's what I also thought. It's fcked up son cos now I need to watch out for not doing too "large" beats with lots of stuff.

I guess I gots ta move a hihat or snare or kick drum one tick back or forth where the long sample cuts out.

Have any of you ran into this with other mp's? I own an xl and I've never had this issue with the grey machine.

You know, I have run into it with other machines but not any MPC's as this is the only one I have owned. It sucks but their is usually an easy way around it just how you are saying. Take out an unnoticeable sound that hits exactly with your sound and you should be fine!
