I've read both manuals and i just can't figure it out. If i record a midi sound in track one then try to record one in track two, the sound in track one changes to the sound im about to record in track two. I'm trying to use the 2500 as the sequencer and record from the motif es. Any help would be appreciated.

i dont know the motif but it should have a multimode.
turn on multimode.
now u should have 16 different sounds each responding to a different midichannel.
on mpc:
select MIDI:A1 in track one
select MIDI:A2 in track two
.
.

Yup...your Motif is in VOICE mode. With a press of a single button, you can place it in MULTI/PERFORMANCE mode, which you will have 16 channels of MIDI to assign the hundreds/thousands of Motif VOICES to each MIDI channel.
