Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

I was working on my 2500 and loaded WAV files from my new CD drive (the M-25) the other day. Everything was working just fine.

Today, I turned on my MPC and was trying to load things off of my hard drive. However, every time I went to a foler called 'Sample Programs', everything would disappear. What I mean is that, it would only show the root directory after that as if it were empty.

So I figured I probably had a problem with my 'Sample Programs' folder. Sure enough, I hooked to USB and the folder had corrupt files in it. So at that point, I figured I would just delete the corrupt files. These files were loaded onto the hard drive from the CD drive originally. And the samples worked at first...In fact, the same samples saved in the Autoload folder were fine, but these were corrupt. The strange thing is, I couldn't delete them. THey looked like hieroglyphics.

So I searched another folder which happened to be samples I loaded in from a different CD and the same thing. These folders had corrupt files in them that were names that were like hieroglyphics.

I backed everything else up again, reformatted the hard drive and loaded it back in. It seems to work fine. By the way, I tried to do system reset, upgrade OS and everything before I formatted the hard drive and nothing worked.

Bottom line, what could this be? I am so apprehensive now to load anything from a CD into my hard drive....

Has anyone been through this before??? Any insight?
