SOMEBODY HAVE A GOOD TUTORIAL FOR DETECT TEMPO?

cuz i've read in the manual , the detect tempo function can doesn't work,he
can work with some samples and not working with another samples.

i need to find something for detect tempo from sample,really!!

I am not sure how to detect tempo on the MPC. I find out what the tempo is of the record that I sample then set the MPC in that area. I get the tempo by either:
Counting the beats for 10 seconds and multiplying by 6 (old DJ trick)
Using the tempo button in Live (tap tempo)
There is a device that you can carry with you and tap it to the beat and gives you the tempo. They have them at music stores
