I Know im being DUMB but....

when i re-load a song after shutting down all my differentsequences are missing and i have to reloiad the samples?

whats up with that or am i just being dumb?

I have to do this as well, because i save all of my information to my compact flash card. You should check to see if you're saving to your built in memory or not...i think that may be the problem.

Im saving to my harddrive so space is not an issue, i think its just an MPC gripe because im so used to working with computer sequencers not analog, all good though.

i realised i need to keep saving as i go along and a quicker way will find me when im ready.

saving to internal memory?? havnt a clue been spoilt with the computer for so long i dont worry about it.

Try reading your manual and following closely along with SAVING properly.

I always save ALL my files for a song in the same folder.

I did that and i dosnt make sense. All i want to do is save a song and the sample all together so that when i reopen it all the sequences are there and so are the samples, instead of ............ Opening the sequences then having to go through and ipen all the samples after.

Lamp is trying to tell you to make a new folder when you "save all files" (which is what saves all the samples, programs, seq., settings, etc.) If you save it all in the root of the memory card then you are more likley to have probs, which is whats happening to you now. Make a new folder & save all files in that folder & you should be fine.

Yep, create a new folder on the hard drive and when you save, select that folder then 'save entire memory'

This will save a project file along with all of your mixer settings, sequences, samples, programs etc etc.

When you go to load it up, just select the folder and hit load. The project file will load with everything alse in the folder.

That's the advantage of having a big hard drive, you can save everything like this every time and not need to worry about duplicating programs etc cuz you've got more than enough space.

I don't know for sure if it's like that with Song load as well, but you might have to change an option to "With Samples" before hitting the Do It button. It's definitely like that when you load a single program.

How exactly are you trying to load your stuff?

Now that people are saying select the folder and load that that seems to make more sense, il give it a whirl.

ok so i did what you all said and bam.... thanks for the tip, it dont say no *** like that in the manual, and its so obvious that the manual has been translated from japanese, so there could be some errors in it.

OK NEXT QUESTION:

how do you clear the memory to start a new project without switching off the machine???

Easiest way to do this is to wipe everything from the RAM so there are no sequences, samples, programs etc in the working memory.

Then save the entire memory into a folder titled Blank Project.

When you want to start afresh, go to load that folder but hit clear instead of do it. This will load up the blank program for you with a completely clean slate

I think thats so that all the sample that were in use are removed as well, but i could be wrong, its only been 4 days so far

I dont know really! As wristmaster said, i thought that if i didn't hit clear it would still keep any samples in memory.
