I wanted to know if it is worth picking up the CD-M25 for the MPC 2500?
Do you think u need it? If so uh yes.

Depends how you'd use it really.
If the MPC is a permanent fixture in your studio i'd be inclined to say no. Reason being it is so easy to sample from CDs and then transfer to the MPC, and it's also easy to sync the MPC to a DAW for recording purposes so it may not come in handy.
If you're going on road with it then yes i would get it so that i could sample from cd's and burn rough copies of songs to listen to on other systems etc.
If you've got the money to dispose of and don't have any other equipment to buy for now then yeah go and buy it.
Me personally, i need to save up for monitors and a mixer and a new audio interface for now so it's far from being top of my list of priorities.
I'll get one eventually though

Whether its a perm fixture in the studio really means nothing...IMHO.
Is it worth picking up? Yes. Do you need the CDM25? Only you can answer that.
The CDM25 is not just a CD player. Its just like the internal hard drive of CF card reader. Its another storage medium. For the time being, it only reads and writes audio files to CDs. It can also read DVD-Rs. You can sample CDs or you can load files of audio CDs, CD-Rs, and DVD-Rs.
If you have the money and need/want one...go ahead a pick one up. If not, use an alternative.

Does the latest OS add support to load the proper 'old style' AKAI format CDs?
I see .APS file support has been added but I don't know what type of format the AKAI cds are presented in.
