Just a quick news brief which will probably not benefit most of us.....

Akai Japan has or will begin a pad exchange program. You can send them your grey pads and they will exchange them for a different color.

Of course we can always just purchase new pads, but that would be cool if Akai USA/Europe will do such a thing in the spirit of customer service satisfaction..especially with all these OS issues with the 2500.

Doubt European customers will benefit, we don't get anything like that over here

That free RAM deal is good but we aren't offered that here either, nor were we for the 1000 last year!

Would be cool though. Wonder if they're the same pads that VST supply?

You will have to call them up. This info is posted on the Japanese site, but it seems to only apply to customers in that region.

do you have to send them your pads first? Aren't pads only like $30 or something?

I contacted Jon Hopewell from Akai and he stated,"Akai Pro is not offering any "pad exchange program" for any of our products".

If Akai Japan did offer a exchange program period, that would be neglect and unfair to Akai Pro customers everywhere. Not saying I would want to change pads, I don't care about that. It's just the general principal as a company. But that's an opinion! ???

I guess the only important thing now is making the OS stable.

Well, Jon Hopewell from Akai , doesn't know what is going on with the company. This is not something I just pulled out of my butt cheeks. You can visit Akai Japan's website and read it for yourself ???

Thanks for the negativity, Jahrome!
They told me it's not a pad exchange, as if there was a problem or something... they mearly have different colored pads and they are offering them to the public; certainly not for free.

How was I being negative?

I just simply wrote what it clearly states on the site. They will exchange your pad for a pad of a different color. They said to contact them for details.

I just simply wrote what they posted. I was trying to start a fight. Red wrote that this program doesn't exist...when it is on the website.

lol..

Hey man, I'm not trying to start anything. I believe what you say Jahrome. But I also believe if it does exist, as a worldwide company to a worldwide problem, they should not neglect their customers in other regions. I personally do not want to exchange my pads, just have a staple OS. I'm viewing this topic as a public opinion. Would you find it unfair?

Red, I am not sure if I find it unfair. Its always sorta been this way. Akai Japan gives much better service than Akai USA...by far. It is not even close. Send them any MPC and they will have it fixed and returned to you so fast, your head will spin. Also, MPCs are cheaper in Japan, than in the US.

So, actually..whether it is fair or not...has never really entered my mind.
