Size matters

Hey

im new here, just got a tight MPC2500 yesterday. I lurked on this forum for a while before making a decision to buy this unit. So far so very good.

First questions: I see that there is a limit of 2GB for the flash card. Has this changed with v1.2 OS? Are there any known probs with using this maximum? Any ideas if OS updates will permit the use of higher capacity cards in the near future, like 8GB?

I use a 2GB CF card... no probs on my end! I never heard about larger cards, but I'd probably use my compy for that.

Get yourself a hard drive instead of even bigger cards as you wont be transferring 2gb of files to/from the CF card at one time. Then just use the CF for moving between places etc

The cost of a 2gb carb will get you a good sized hard drive, i'm talking 60-80gb

good idea. is the HD accessible from the computer/usb just like a CF card?

Yeah you just select which one you want to link to USB. Unfortunately you cant view the hard drive and CF card at the same time, but it's no big deal

yea for sure it is, i threw in an 80gig after i got mine back from the factory. It was turbo-easy... Also, you dont have to worry about losing a hard drive installed like you would a flash card
