Trim Tap Tempo

While in Trim mode, is it possible to use the tap tempo while triming a sample? Would be a cool feature, especially for cutting drums.

The reason I ask, because when I got the 2500, I thought that I was able to do this with one of the earlier OS I had (i think the 2nd OS release).
Could be wrong? or maybe something got changed with the updates?

I recently installed 1.21 amd was able to tap tempo while in trim mode, although I could not see the new tempo, when I came out of trim it had increased close to the BPM of the sampled material I was working with. So it seems to still work in 1.21 as far I as I know.

I was actually talking about, for example: say you are trying to trim a bass Kick or Snare out of a loop, you could hold the tap tempo button or note repeat, and the pad at the same time and the sound would repeat itself to you released the button and pad. You could hold the Tap tempo button and pad while triming with the data wheel!

Kind of the same thing when in the main window you can have the sample roll/repeat without the sequencer running, but you can do the same in the trim page depending on what the T.C.(1/16, 1/32, etc.) is set to.

Oh, I misunderstood your post. If I understaond you correctly now, you are essentially trying to trim while the sample loops so you can hear the loopoint in real time? If so, I haven't tried that (used to have an mpc2k, didn't know about using tap tempo in trim mode) , but I suppose on the 2500 you could enable LOOP (second tab) and then use the Q-Link sliders Q1 for start point and Q2 for end point (both have to press the AFTER key i believe) and adjust the sample while holding down the pad as it loops in realtime. I'll have to try it...never thought to do it until your post. If it works, I'll have to thank you for giving a method to speed up my workflow!! Socfar I've been doing trim and press, trimcandprees...

Ok, I tried it AND Re-read your post. I guess I wasn't understanding your second post either, but after reading it again and trying on my MPC, I think I get what you are saying.

What I said in my last post still stands (can turn on loop and use Qlinks...), but you can also simply turn on loop and place the cursor on either the start or end points and adjust with the datawheel as ususal--no need to hold anything. Neither happens in real-time though. You have to release and press the pad again to hear the results of the adjustment. Also the loop does not coincide with TC setting--I'm not really sure why you would want it to in trim mode though???

Basically, what I'm saying is all you need to do is turn on loop. If you are looking for it occur in realtime, you'd be talking about somthing like a scrub feature.

I came from 2K Xl lad also! but I will give what you said a try. The one cool thing I like about the 2500 is be able to trim while the a Sequence is running! But I could have swore that i did the type of trim i explained in an earlier OS
