you have to assign the pads effects beforehand in program mode first, right? Otherwise, things like Cutoff and Resonance don't work.

Is this correct?

At first I was trying to get the qlilnk sliders to work and the only things that would work were the tune and volulme. Pan didn't appear to work because all my samples were sampled in mono.

You are right. I usually turn down the cutoff and turn up the resonance in the program screen to make it more effective.

okay, that's good to know. I was confused at first as to why they weren't working (or appeared to not work).

I have an electribe MX and I get used to things just working when you move a knob or fader, something always happens. :)

I wish I could get the sliders to effect the samples on playback of a sequence and not have to manually do something like hit the pad.

Can you get the qlink sliders to affect a sample assigned to pad during normal playback, or does it require a manual striking of the pad to get it to work?

i wish you could assign multiple pads or a program to 1 qlink

Amen to that... I hope Akai is reading this post.... that would be amazing. Technically most people would use the 4 Q-Links for the same functions for the most part which would mean... if you could just assign qlinks iwth a default real-time function, that would create a more efficient workflow.

Example:

Qlink 1: attack
Qlink 2: decay
Qlink 3 knob: pan
Qlink 4 knob: level

Yes you can manipulate during playback...try hitting the "After" buttons.

Oh, and you should be able to pan your samples, no matter if they are mono...they come out both stereo outs anyway.

ah, "after" button. Right, I'll check that out.

To tell you the truth, I bougth the MPC-1000 ebook tutorial and have been going through that with the 2500. Its really great and gives you context to how to use the MPC. Sometimes I have to look in the manual to see what the differences are though as sometimes the options aren't totally the same.

Thanks,

rob.

I don't know, I can't seem to get the realtime qlink sliders to work unless I've hit the pad manally and then move the slider. It doesnt' work if it is playing back via the sequencer.

The after button seems to have no effect on the sound output at all.

Hm...I can do it for example with the filter with no problem, even without After. To be honest, I don't really got the hang of it myself yet, but it has to be setup correctly. E.g. if you want to use the filter with a Q-Link, you must also enable the filter in the Program - Filter section first, or nothing will happen.

I think the Qlinks are under development. .... I hope.
I have found strange behavior as well. Sometimes when I have recorded in realtime changes it doesn't always play back that way. I forgot what I did to cause this.

I too hope they offer more uses for the qlinks. Links to effects would be cool too. Also a universal assignment to various tracks at the same time. My only faith is in the Akai development team.

i'd like to co-sign this. q-link is a wasted opportunity, it just needs a little more thought.

before someone says JJOS to me- i'm just not ready to go over to the darkside just yet...

i´d like to have the qlinks generate midi cc events so i can use them as controllers in a live setup...
in this particular small setup all i have is the mp, an alesis micron and a kaoss pad 2 - so a few more controllers are welcome.

I go into "step edit "and check, find, then delete or adjust any Qlink events that aren't right.
