Ok, 2 questions. i just picked up a Roland JV 1080 rack mmount synth module.Any one with this module would be a great help.

Question 1
I notice that when I am running Midi out from my midi keyboard and midi in on the mpc, the pads are triggering even though i have the Type set to drum, midi option off. is it suppose to be doing that? I just want to be able to play a keyboard riff while playing the drums from my mpc.

Question2
I Also have the midi out of the mpc to the midi in of the JV 1080. I am trying to play its rythym set(which consits of mainly percussion) but when i try to use them with the pads, it wont respond.I know the output and everything works fine because it works on the synth in other modes. However when i hook the midi keyboard directly to the synth, i am getting a response. I looked in the synth manual for the solution, and it basically tells me to set my midi keyboard to port 10? whatever that means....

I seriously hope you guys can help...Im going nuts trying to figure this out.

#1, is there a way you can set your program to local pads off in your mpc?

Yes, look up p. 54 in the manual.

hi!
got the jv 2080.
the rhythm sets respond to midichannel 10.
set the midi to 10a, or 10b ... on your mpc.

problem 1:

record your drums on a track.
if you want to play keyboard to this drums, select another
track and set pgm to off. midikeyboard and pads always trigger
the selected program.

YO thanx much for the response. Hey poshcec i got another question for you...Lets say your wanna play a rythym set on ur synth with track 1 on your mpc. And then when you go to track 2, you wanna play synth patch. Is it possible? Similarly, lets say i play a patch in the synth from track one on the mpc. Can i play a different synth patch with track 2 while track one is still playing on its original patch? if so, how?

That's what I was hinting toward. I just didn't wanna post any page #'s.

Is your synth multitimbral? If not, then no, you can't.
Is your synth multitimbral? If yes, then yes, you can.
