Midi CC Data

Hey

I want to transmit midi CC data to my microkorg to control the LFO's and sh!t.

Can i do this with the 2500 or am i gona have to by a seperate midi squencer?

If i can do this will i be able to record the data coming from the microkorg with the 2500 in realtime?

I'm trying to go all hardware for my live setup and not use my lappy runing renoise or ableton to control the CC data.

Well, technically the 2500 can transmit MIDI CC data. But you won't be able to control the CCs with the Q-Links for example as of now. That means you will have to enter them manually into the sequence, or use another MIDI controller hooked up to the MPC to record the CC data coming from that.

so if i want to control cc#87 wich is LFO1 on the microkorg i go to the step edit menu,insert and control change. The enter the cc# and the value.

Can i do it the other way?

IE:

Control the LFO with the microkorgs knob and record the data with the 2500?

Then can i manually alter the values again in the step edit menu?

The ms/micro korg works great with the MPC. You can even dedicate a track for midi messages only.

My only gripe is that it is harder to erase midi messages only. Sometimes lay down midi note tracks. Later not realizing record is still on the MPC I tweak a patch on my Virus. This tweak(s) are obviously unwantedly recorded. Does anyone know how to erase midi cc#s without erasing the notes.

Can i not edit midi notes ive played in the grid edit window?

they dont seem to appear?

Did you read the manual on what and how grid edit is to be used?

I'll look again and refresh also.
